The Marvin Gaye Copyright Lawsuit Outcome
Nobody likes an unresolved cliffhanger. Today the Associated Press reported the outcome of the copyright suit that we discussed in class, which involved Marvin Gaye, Robin Thicke, and Pharrell.
BREAKING: Jury finds Pharrell, Thicke copied Marvin Gaye song for ‘Blurred Lines,’ awards $7.3 million.

It is estimated that Thicke and Pharrell earned about $5million each for Blurred Lines, so paying Gaye’s estate $7.3million is pretty significant.
You may recall watching the video where puppets sing about the Marvin Gaye and Blurred Lines lawsuits (there’s a line you never expected to hear with regards to a college course, huh?). Here it is again in case you need a refresher:
